With the passing of years this movie has lost some of its pizzazz, so I recommend reading the book instead and letting your imagination put the pizzazz back into it.

George Kennedy isn’t Yul Brynner, and Guns of the Magnificent Seven is a pale shadow of the original Magnificent Seven.

I think that this movie got great reviews elsewhere because critics thought it “ought” to be good…– “ought” is the key word.

The plot doesn’t make much sense, it is more theologically twisted than “The Devil and Daniel Webster,” and it misses a few great opportunities to inject some humor, but it keeps you interested, will make you squirm in your seat and the visuals were comic book good.
Rated PG-13
