Every element of the plot is predictable, and Shirley Temple isn’t as cute as in some of her other movies, and yet… it is a sweet little movie that is enjoyable to watch.

Excellent — like all of the Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers movies — this last film in which they worked together is a bittersweet tale of romance, love, and loss.
