This was one of the first movies I ever saw, and I can still remember the suspense I felt forty years ago when the Americans and Soviets had their face-to-face standoff on the ice —- four decades later I still love it.

We watched it with our eight-year old and it provided a great opportunity to discuss a wide variety of things with him including the Ark of the Covenant, world history, WWII, male-female relationships, and why it is okay to be afraid of snakes.
